1 What is PowerUp!

PowerUp! 2020 is the sixth edition of the biggest competition for start-ups and energy industry entrepreneurs from Central-Eastern Europe. Participants have the chance to compete for a main prize of 50 000€ and the opportunity to develop their business on a global scale. 

2 Who can apply to PowerUp! Challenge?

PowerUp! Challenge is open for early-staged companies, startups, scaleups and SMEs from 24 CEE countries. It’s an opportunity to get an investment and access to industry leaders, the best tech companies and VCs from InnoEnergy Pan-European network. 

3 Who is the competition for?

Exclusively for eligible startups, InnoEnergy is holding a competition within the PowerUp! Challenge with financial prizes up to €65.000 and the title of Start-up of the Year. Other benefits include participation in the Business Bootcamps©, focusing on substantive support from international field experts, with topics such as business planning, pitching skills or IP protection.

Startup - a Participant, which is a legal person and an organizational unit which is not a legal person, to which the law has granted legal capacity, that has been on the market for no more than 5 years (counted from the date of establishment) and whose revenue from the sale of products and services (if any) for 2019 does not exceed EUR 75.000.

4 Can I apply in my native language?

Unfortunately not, the application form and any information submitted has to be in English.

5 Why should I take part in this competition?

Access to mentoring and substantial support from leading energy companies – these priceless benefits are only available to participants of PowerUp! by InnoEnergy. Winners can not only count on financial rewards but also access to the prestigious Highway® accelerator, transforming ideas and projects into a market reality. 

6 What is Highway®?

The Highway® accelerator aims to develop start-up projects and adapt them to the European market. Those who join the program can expect support within a wide range of topics from legal and IP protection, to pitch deck design, to agile methodology, and more. Other benefits include accessing international clients, as well as financial investment up to 150 000€.

7 What makes the difference between this competition and others?

Thanks to InnoEnergy's support and access to the Highway® accelerator, participants have a real chance of commercializing their projects. PowerUp! is also the biggest energy start-up competition in this part of Europe.

8 What happens for participants who qualify for the next stage of PowerUp! 2020?

Start-ups that pass through the application stage will be invited to participate in bootcamps run by recognized European business mentors. These workshops will prepare participants for the national finals and the Grand Final, in which they will present their ideas to experts. The winner will be selected on 3 June in Krakow during Impact'20 - one of the most important economic events in Central and Eastern Europe.

9 How many participants qualify for the Country Bootcamps and Gala?

The jury is free to choose projects that meet the criteria and have a chance of being implemented.

10 How can I apply to PowerUp!?

To participate in the Contest you need to submit your application via form available on-line at https://powerup.innoenergy.com. 

11 Can I save the draft of my application?

You can save in draft if you don’t have enough time to fill the whole application and come back later. Please pay attention to submission deadline.

After completing first step of application process, you will receive an e-mail on the address given in the form. After entering the link, you will be transfered to the last step you have completed and carry on submitting your application. 

Remember that to save your application, you must press the NEXT button at the bottom of the form page. Only after pressing NEXT your application will be saved in the system and you will be able to return to it.

12 What is the deadline for submitting applications?

The deadline for registration period is 5 March 2020.
